Description

The scarf that turns a plain coat into an outfit. Wrap it once and you are warm; wrap it twice and you look like you thought about it. Quiet in daylight, unforgettable the moment the light moves.

Two silks and a thread of emerald lurex. The base alternates black velvet ribbon cut from raw silk with black schappe silk, knitted together with a single strand of emerald lurex, its 1mm sequins already caught on the thread, ready to catch the light.

The fabric is rich and heavy in the hand, the way only silk can feel. In still light the scarf reads as black. In movement, in candlelight, in winter sun, it opens into deep green.

2.95 metres long, 38 cm wide. Enough to wrap twice, to drape over a coat, to wear as a shawl.

Handknitted in the Netherlands. One of a kind. Will not be repeated.

Care: Hand wash cold with a silk detergent, only when needed. Silk is naturally self-cleaning and airs out beautifully, so most of the time a few hours in fresh air (in the shade) is all it takes. Do not wring; instead lay the scarf flat on a towel and press gently to remove excess water. Reshape and dry flat, away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not steam, as heat can damage the sequins and lurex.
