Emerald Night Shawl

Description

Two silks. One thread of emerald lurex, strung with 1mm sequins by hand.

The base alternates between black velvet ribbon cut from raw silk and black schappe silk thread, combined with emerald lurex — sequins already caught on it, ready to catch the light.

The fabric is rich and heavy in the hand. The way only silk can feel.

In still light the scarf reads as black. In movement, in candlelight, in winter sun — it opens into deep green.

2.7 metres long. 38 cm wide. Enough to wrap twice, to drape over a coat, to wear as a shawl.

Handknitted in the Netherlands. One of a kind. Will not be repeated.

Hand wash in cold water with a gentle silk detergent. Do not wring. Press in a towel to remove excess water.

Lay flat to dry. Do not steam.
