Fluffy Sleeping Socks

An evening, a soft blanket, and your feet finally warm. They heat up very quickly. It is a dry warmth that makes it easy to fall asleep feeling gently wrapped up.

The fluff of baby alpaca and kid mohair is light and airy. You will want to touch it again and again. The grey with its darker threads looks like soft marble. I knit every pair by hand on needles, so there is never a second one exactly the same. My daughter and I sleep in socks like these every night, only ours are milk white.

That feeling is no accident. I knit these socks by hand from merino, baby alpaca and kid mohair, spun at Italian mills. All three fibres give softness and warmth. A thin, strong polyester core carries the fluffy alpaca and mohair thread, so the fluff stays in place and does not shed. The socks also last longer, because socks made of wool alone wear through very quickly. The composition is merino 67%, baby alpaca 12%, kid mohair 11% and polyester 10%. One pair takes three days of unhurried hand knitting. When I finish knitting, I wash each pair and pin it out. Every stitch then lies smooth and even.

Size & Fit:
Size EU 41/42. In the photos, the low socks on the left sit at the ankle and have a soft, flexible knit. They are in stock. The ones on the right are the same, but above the ankle. The last photo shows milk white. I knit tall socks, any length you like, milk white, cream or beige, and other sizes to order. The price depends on the length, so just message me and we will talk it through.

Care:
Wool does not need frequent washing, airing it out in fresh air is usually enough. If you do need to wash them, do it gently by hand and do not wring them. Lay them flat on a terry towel to dry. Turn them over from time to time.
